Dear Fairmont Charter Elementary Family,
With great pleasure, I write this letter to you as the incoming principal of Fairmont Charter Elementary School. Even though I have only had limited interactions with the faculty and parents thus far, I can already tell that it is a unique and special place that I am incredibly excited to become a part of. Becoming a part of the Fairmont Charter family and community is truly an honor.
I arrived at Fairmont Charter Elementary as a seasoned teacher and building principal, but in addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a mother. My son Xavier begins seventh grade this year in Vacaville and is so excited for the upcoming year. I come to you with 17 years of experience as an educator; however, I come from a family of educators, so I have been around this profession all my life. I spent eight years teaching at the high school level, two years as a vice principal at the middle school level, five years as a principal at the middle school level, and most recently, two years as a K-8 principal in the Vallejo City Unified School District.
This summer, I spent most of my time working with Mr. Moffitt to ensure a smooth transition. I am getting to know our building, our community and familiarizing myself with the needs of our school. I view education as a lifelong process. I will continue to learn much about Fairmont Charter Elementary this year and in the future. Most importantly, I bring a belief that the students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to bring my experience, openness to learning and child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to the collaboration and support we can give each other.
I am here to make every effort to help your child reach their fullest potential. I vow to give my all to our students. I will request the same actions from our staff and school community. Together we will continue to move Fairmont Charter Elementary School students through a rich learning environment guided with love and support toward a bright future.
