We proudly announce that Wayne Jackson is our 2023-2024 Classified Employee of the Year for the VUSD Facilities and Maintenance Department.
Wayne began as an electrical foreman this past Fall (2023). Still, he has worked in the district since 2019 as a substitute and a Maintenance Electrician.
In all his roles with VUSD, Wayne has demonstrated excellent leadership skills, professionalism, courtesy, and dedication. He is highly organized and supports his team by completing dozens of often complex work orders ranging from high voltage work to HVAC, alarms, and everything in between. He operates methodically, works around problems, and gets the job done.
Most importantly, Wayne keeps a calm head, even in stressful conditions, and always makes the VUSD staff and students he serves feel cared for.
