LEAD AND ASBESTOS IN BUILDING MATERIALS
Public schools have distinct regulatory requirements to protect school children and school employees from asbestos exposure. Vacaville Unified complies with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) established by the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
If hazardous materials are ever identified during school modernizations, Vacaville Unified contracts with licensed hazardous material abatement companies to ensure that materials are handled and disposed of properly and in accordance with state and federal laws.
Bond Measures V and A have provided VUSD with funds to continuously remove hazardous materials from our older schools.
