About Fairmont

OUR PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE

Fairmont has served students and families from the southeast side of Vacaville since 1970.

In 2007, Fairmont became a district-dependent charter school; the Charter was last renewed in 2021. Since then, Fairmont has been recognized as a Gold Ribbon School by the California Department of Education and with a Gold Award by the California Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) Coalition.

Home to the Falcons, Fairmont serves a student population of approximately 600 students in Transitional Kindergarten - 6th grade. Class sizes average 20-24 students in Transitional Kindergarten, 22-24 students in Kindergarten - 3rd grade, and 24-28 students. All classrooms utilize 1:1 technology and each grade level has dedicated time during the school day for intervention and enrichment. Fairmont also employs a full-time School Counselor and Student Support Assistant to meet the social-emotional needs of students and has a team of intervention teachers and paraeducators to support academic achievement and student success.

In 2008, Fairmont broke ground on a new 53,000 sq. ft. building. The project consisted of an entire new school constructed alongside the original campus. Following construction, the old Fairmont site was demolished and replaced with new playground and play fields.

Fairmont

The new school was a first for Vacaville Unified: a two-story all-in-one-building school with 27 classrooms, a Main Office, Library, Computer Lab, Multi-purpose Room and Kitchen, and multiple work and storage rooms.

The building was also the first school in Solano County to be designated as a L.E.E.D. Silver School and was designed to beat government energy standards, lower energy costs for the District, help combat climate change, and enhance student performance. L.E.E.D., which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, features a third-party Green Building Rating System™ to encourage sustainable green building and development practices.

At Fairmont, we believe in collaboration and community. As our motto says: "Together, we soar!"
